Maybelline New York FIT me Foundation and Concealer Review

I bought Maybelline NY FIT me Foundation and Concealer and thought I would let you know what I think of them. I got number ‘230’ in the Foundation and concealer is in the shade ‘25 Medium’.

Foundation:

I am one that doesn’t want too much coverage – I want a foundation to have more coverage then say a tinted moisturizer but still look natural and flawless. I also like a dewy look rather than Matte. I find that the Fit Me Foundation satisfies these requirements.

Recently they comes up with Maybelline FIT me Matte and Poreless which is suitable for Oily skin. But I prefer to use the ‘Maybelline FIT me’ because as I said, I like dewy finish of foundation and I have normal to dry skin.

I wouldn’t recommend it for people with oily skin – it is best on normal to dry. It’s got a very lovely, light, blend able formula and it claims to allow your skin to breathe. It’s also got a translucent base and lightweight pigments to highlight your skin’s natural highs and lows.

It’s also got an SPF of 15. Although it has SPF but it doesn’t flash back in photographs.
I found applying it with my fingers didn’t work as well as using a Foundation brush or Beauty sponge.

Cons:
The only downside with it is the bottle it comes in – it looks great! But to dispense the product is a bit of a hassle as it do not have a pump – I really like the pump dispenser of Foundations.

The “FIT me” name means that you should be able to find a shade (number) that best matches your skin tone. They have the relevant Concealer and Powder that matches with that Foundation Colour (number). I believe there are 18 foundation shades available but I’ve only seen up to 12 different shades in store in Australia.

Pricing will vary wherever you source your Maybelline products but the average is around $18 AUD for the 30ml bottle.

Here are some swatches of shade 230

 Concealer:

In relation to the Concealer – it’s fantastic! I always go a shade or two lighter than my foundation as I use it around my eye area to highlight as well. I got the number 20 in Sand.

There are 6 different Shades available in Australia and the average price is $13 AUD for 6.85ml. It’s got a brush applicator which I really like. Most of the beauty gurus compare it with NARS RADIENT CREAMY CONCEALER which I have not tried yet.

Once again the formula is light and gives a natural coverage. Really like to use this to spot conceal on the days when I don’t feel like to wear a lot of makeup.

Here are some swatches of shade 25 medium:

I really recommend trying these and I will definitely repurchase them.
Thank you for reading and have a great day!

BOBBI BROWN MOISTURE RICH FOUNDATION SPF 15 Review

What Bobbi Brown says about this foundation?

“Bobbi brown moisture rich Foundation has moisturizing formula which provides broad spectrum SPF 15 sun protection while it hydrates skin and delivers a soft, beautiful finish. It is for normal to dry skin types—this formula is buildable, allowing for medium to full coverage, as desired. This ultra-hydrating formula blends the moisture-magnet benefits of sodium hyaluronate with jojoba, wheat germ and plant oils to hydrate and soften skin. Antioxidants vitamin C and E help protect against damaging free radicals while lavender oil calms and soothes. After moisturising skin, apply a small amount of foundation around the nose, and blend. Continue to apply all over or only where needed to even tone and cover imperfections. Blend with clean sponge, fingertips or the Foundation Brush (sold separately).”

This foundation was the first ever high-end expensive foundation I bought for myself. It has Glass packaging, comes with a pump.
So here are my reviews:

PROS

Texture and Coverage and Finish:
It has a wonderfully soft, fluid-but-creamy texture that blends beautifully and dries to a natural, soft glow finish.

This is a medium coverage foundation with a glowy finish, which is my favourite type of foundation anyway. For reference my skin is really dry expect my t zone. It has the most beautiful, undetectable finish on the skin, at least applied with a beauty blender. It could be streaky when applied with a brush, so I never used this with brush.

The best part for me is that it doesn't only look good, it also seems to nourish my combination more on dry side skin - there's something in it, maybe oils that actually feel like they moisturize the skin while wearing it. It did not accentuate my pores and nor it cling to my dry patches (if I have bad skin day).
I feel like the foundation last just as well on the non-primed face as the primed face, but it actually blend better on my bare skin!.

Shades:
The shade range is good with 11 shades for almost all skin tone. I am in the shade "Honey 5".

Skin Type: It is best for combination to dry skin. Definitely not for oily skin because it is very dewy.

It has SPF 15 which is good.

CONS

Even though I love the overall performance of this foundation, there are some things that really irritate me about it.
·        Firstly, this is such an expensive foundation retails for $72 AUD. Which is a lot for a 30 ml foundation.
·        My second complaint concerns that I have to do touch ups as my nose gets oily throughout the day. The longevity is nothing special.
·        It is not cruelty free; tested on animals.

Overall, this foundation is not that bad. I still use it, I just simply do not want to waste it after paying so much for it. But would I repurchase? Hell no! Just because it is very pricey for everyday use and I can get similar product from drug store in less price.

You can buy it from Myer Australia , Mecca. (this link is not Affiliated)

MASTER CONTOUR PALETTE by Maybelline New York Review

What Maybelline New-York claims for This Product?

So, Maybelline New York claims that "it is easy to use face contouring kit includes a contouring powder, blush and highlighter. With a custom angled brush includes, you can create professional results with effortless application."

I had always found contouring very intimidating, but now I am really liking to contour my face.

Packaging:
It has plastic packaging with clear lid and metallic writing. Which is very sleek and simple. The black case gives it a professional look. Palette available in two colours: light/medium and medium/deep, I use the medium/deep one as I have olive medium skin tone. Each palette comes with one contour shade, one blush shade, and one highlight shade for a total of three pans and a small angled brush.
Here are my thoughts after trying out the palette:

Highlighter:
The highlight is very pigmented, smooth and finely milt with subtle sheen. Undoubtedly, my absolute favourite highlight that gives me a natural glow. The highlighter is the real star of this palette. It is gorgeous, especially from the drugstore.

Blush:
The blush is a luminescent, pearly light pink which gave me a subtle wash of colour. It is an easily dupable, along the lines of NARS Orgasm Blushes.

Contour shade:
Contour shade is rich and deep as I have the kit in Medium to Deep, and the shade is perfect for my medium skin tone. It is so buttery and smooth almost creamy when rubbed between the fingers and is build able. The fallout is strong with this one, so be sure to go easy with it and clean the fallout out of the case often. I don’t have any problem with this.

Price and from where you can buy?
It retails for $19.95 AUD and you can buy it from  Priceline pharmacy Australia

Would I recommend this product?
I really liked pallet. It has no strong fragrance that I can detect. Colour payoff is so good! In terms of durability - Does is last or fade? It will fade eventually, depending on your environment (I live in Australia, in a humid climate) and what you're doing. Setting spray does stretch its lasting ability some.
If you are a beginner to makeup - yes. If you are on a budget - absolutely. If you want quality makeup for drugstore prices - hurry, because they sell out like hotcakes.
The only negative thing I can say is that it has no mirror and I don't like the brush that comes with it.

I hope it helps, thanks for reading.

TheBalm Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter Review

Hi Guys!

So today I will be reviewing "Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter" by The Balm Cosmetics.

What is claims to be on "The Balm" website ?
Mary-Lou Manizer, a seemingly innocent honey-hued luminizer that catches everybody’s eye. This highlighter, shadow and shimmer diffuses light so your skin looks softer and younger while adding a subtle glow.

My Thoughts:
Of all the highlighters I've tried, powder or liquid, this one works the best on my medium tone skin without accentuating pores. It have golden champagne color without glitter or shimmer. I love the color of it, not overly warm nor cool, it's something in between. I would say it would fit most complexions! It lasts all day and actually looks even better after one or two hours on skin as it mixes with facial oils. A little bit goes a long way and it makes an amazing inner corner highlighter on the eyes and eye brow highlight too.
My favorite way to use it is with Real Techniques Setting brush and some spits of Prep + Prime Fix + setting spray from Mac Cosmetics.

Packaging And Price:
I love the packaging, and the balm has a creative way of marketing their products. It has a good size mirror which is a bonus.
It retails for $24 USD and in Australia can can get it for $29.95 AUD from David Jones and Target.

You will get a lot of product for the price and it will last you forever.
I highly recommend this product definitely worth the money and gave you a very nice glow.

Thanks! I hope it helps. :)

L'OREAL PARIS Lumi Magique Pure Light Primer 20 mL

This is a fairly good primer for the right skin type, which is DRY. Very wet, very moisturizing consistency. It's pretty good for a drugstore primer over all but I do have to say that depending on what kind of skin you have, you're either going to love it or hate it. For reference, I have dry skin with oily nose you can say "combination skin".

PROS:
I'm personally into the dewy, natural looking skin finish and this primer helps achieve that. I typically used to apply this all over my cheeks and then applied my foundation with a beauty blender over it, This gave a really nice "radiance from within" type look, and the product itself feels very moisturizing.
CONS:
This product didn't do a thing to my pores at all and it did claims to do so. It also takes a very long time for this product to dry down as it feels very wet, and when applied to any areas on my face that gets oily like my nose, it doesn't help the foundation stay at all. Because of this I started to only apply this where my face is a little drier, which is basically everywhere except my T Zone, and it did perform well when I did that but with my pores not being smoothed, and my nose and forehead being left primer less. That is why i have to use a different primer on my t-zone.
This primer retail for $ 29.95 AUD which is fairly a bit expensive as a drug store primer and you get only 20 ml.
TLDR: I recommend this to people with dry skin that want to feel a little more hydrated and dewy. Be warned, this doesn't have the "skin smoothing" properties that some primers do have. Be careful about applying this on oily areas, and if you were planning on buying this only to use as a highlighter, this is a great cheekbones highlighter.

You can buy it from Priceline Pharmacy  in Australia (This link is not Affiliated)
Cheers! Feel free to share.
